The Rainbow Bridge
In loving memory of Chloe'
and Lilly
Just this side of heaven is a
place called
Rainbow bridge.
When an animal who had been
especially close
to someone dies,
that pet goes to the rainbow
bridge.
There are meadows and hills
for all our
special friends
so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water,
and sunshine,
and our friends are warm and
comfortable.
All the animals who had been
ill and old
are restored to health and vigor,
those who were hurt or maimed
are made whole
and strong again,
just as we remember them in
our dreams of days
and time gone by.
The animals are happy and content,
except for
one small thing;
they miss someone very special
to them,
who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together,
but the day comes when one suddenly
stops
and looks in the distance.
His bright eyes are content,
his eager body begins to quiver.
Suddenly he begins to run from
the group,
flying over the green grass,
his legs carrying him faster
and faster!
You have been spotted,
and when you and your special
friend meet,
you cling together in joyous
reunion,
never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your
face,
your hands again caress the
beloved head,
and you look once more into
the
trusting eyes of your pet,
so long gone from your life,
but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge
together...................

Life like a flower in bloom
sheds it's petals day by day
as silently it fades away
I thought you might like to add this to your pages.

A Note to Myself
I ask myself, what is the job
of a grandchild? Is it to
be pretty, sweet and mild? Or
maybe it's to be the
one that comes crying to Grandmom
when I get a
bruise or cut on my knee. For
this brought her great
joy because she could help her
little boy and tell him
that everything was ok.
As time has gone by, my job
has changed from being
that little boy who know when
I got hurt, Granny
could ease my pain by the loving
attention I received
and a kiss on my knee; to now
being the one that
takes care of my Grandmom.
I find myself looking after
her. Now she's the little
girl that seeks the same comforting
words that she
once said to me.
This is the job of a grandchild.
It doesn't feel like a
job. It's as if I'm receiving
the same joy that she had
received through the years of
taking care of me.
So let me rephrase. This is
not a job of a grandchild.
This is the pleasure and joy
of being a grandchild to
an angel from above.

"After A While"
After a while you learn
The subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining
a soul
and you learn that love doesn't
always mean leaning
and company doen't always mean
security
And you begin to learn
that kisses aren't contracts
and
presents aren't promises
and you begin to accept your
defeats
with your head up and your eyes
ahead
with the grace of a woman
not the grief of a child
and you learn
to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground is
too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way
of falling down in mid-flight
After a while you learn
that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
so you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting
for someone to bring you flowers
And you learn that you really
can endure
that you really are strong
and you really do have worth
and you learn and you learn
with every goodbye you learn
Sorry to be so long-winded, but
this touches my soul,
and reading the things
on your page, I thought you
might appreciate it.
Emerald sea
take me, carry me aloft soft
ripples,
silky smooth calm waters
My heart simmering in the radiance
of your smile,
majestic sun that warms me,
I melt
Set a fire by your ever brilliant
blues
Brightening, every hour I am
near
Reflective of your fair sands,
so far and away, Anticipating
my return to you,
my emerald sea
